Hi!!! I am planning on building a new pc. I have been posting on forums to try and get the help that I need, but I always find a reason to post another thread for some help. I am posting to ask for your help, your opinion. Each of the components that I feel is good for my build, there is always someone who gives a better suggestion as to what to include in my new build. I would like for you to give your opinion as to what component you feel is needed. I will list a component and a concern that I feel is necessary in order for this build to have no down sides and to work correctly and perform greatly. Keep in mind I plan on having a theme for my build...either Red or Blue...Which one do you prefer? Also, I plan for my build to be around $1000. Here are the components in which I feel I would like to include in my build (Give your opinion as to what component you feel is better and why, please :))

CPU:
Intel Core i5-4690K: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/intel-cpu-bx80646i54690k
I feel as if this processor is just alittle bit overpriced, but given that you can overclock, I guess it COULD be worth it in the end.

Motherboard:
#1 - ASRock Fatal1ty Z97 Killer ATX LGA1150: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asrock-motherboard-fatal1tyz97killer
#2 - ASRock Z97 EXTREME4 ATX LGA1150: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asrock-motherboard-z97extreme4

Memory:
#1 - Corsair Vengeance Pro 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-memory-cmy8gx3m2a1600c9r
#2 - Corsair Vengeance Pro 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-memory-cmy8gx3m2a1600c9b
I plan to have my PC Build color themed....either Blue or Red. Which do you think would fit better in this situation?

Storage:
I am having a hard time choosing between Western Digital and Seagate.... Which do you feel is better in my situation?
#1 - Seagate Constellation ES.3 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/seagate-internal-hard-drive-st1000nm0053
#2 - Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/seagate-internal-hard-drive-st1000dm003

GPU:
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 4GB WINDFORCE: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-video-card-gvn970g1gaming4gd
I feel confident with this card, but I am concerned about anything bottlenecking...will this Build bottleneck in any way?

Case:
#1 - Corsair 450D ATX Mid Tower: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-case-cc9011049ww
#2 - Phanteks Enthoo Luxe ATX Full Tower: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/phanteks-case-phes614lbk
I seem to not be abke to choosse between these two cases. I am concerned with all of each of these cases' features. Which do you think would be suitable with this build?

PSU:
EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-120g10750xr
I am concerned with the company EVGA's PSU's. I don't have much experience with PSU's, and I would like your opinion on this as well.

Optical Drive:
Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-optical-drive-drw24b1stblkbas
Nothing special here, just an Optical Drive that I can install my OS on and maybe pop in a few DVD's here and there.

OS:
Microsoft Windows 8.1 - 64-bit (OEM) (64-bit): http://pcpartpicker.com/part/microsoft-os-885370635690
I plan on getting Windows 8.1. Is this what I need?

P.S.-----> Thank you SOOO much for your consideration and time, I hope you can help me and have a nice day!!! :):good:

If you plan on overclocking that CPU than I would look at a better aftermarket cooler, maybe the Hyper 212 evo or water cooling.
Other than that all the components that you have listed are excellent. The EVGA power supplies are rated highly. Good choice.

Enjoy your new PC

I love WD, I have replaced many hard drives with theirs and none have failed, also they are cheap and good. I also like the corsair case a bit better, but the fractal design define r4 is my favorite. You will be happier with the second mobo, as some reviews have said the first mobo is flimsy and not very nice, so maybe a blue color scheme.

Asrock z97 extreme 4 is better

RAM - I would get cheaper/ faster RAM instead
http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gskill-memory-f314900cl8d8gbxm
http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gskill-memory-f32400c10d8gzh

Storage - best to get SSD for OS/ programme if you got money.

Case - Personally don't see the point spending that much money on a case for $1000 build. Are you going to SLi in future? If no get a good mid-atx case instead, save the money and get SSD
http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-case-cc9011040ww

PSU - If you are not planning to SLi in future, you won't need 750W. However, that EVGA is good value.

Video card - that Gigabyte card is long...
Personally would get a shorter card, but i do assume gigabyte card have better heatsink as it has 3 fan.

i would agree with ninja and cisco. Ive seen that list somewhere before :D.

out of the two boards the extreme4 is the better performing and better looking board. Also the RAM i think personally looks a lot better than most and in terms if your only using the RAM for gaming you wouldnt notice much of an fps increase from 1600-1866mhz RAM. you can always overclock it in the bios with 1866 settings to bring the speed up if needed.

However if you like the gskill RAM like cisco has pointed out it is better value and you can get faster RAM for the same price.

The PSU is fine and i would stick with the 750w as the gtx 970 is a very good value affordable SLI card if you plan to in the future.

And the i5 4690k is of a reasonable price considering.

The corsair 450d is a very good quality, spacious case. If you like it and have the money for it, i would go for it as it gives you tonnes of room for the future including watercooling if needed ,waterloop or something like a corsair h100i. It also allows loads of room for cable management and card SLI. Although it is quite a costly case.

also if you can get a good cooler as you'd want to overclock. If your built on price for this something like a coolermaster hyper 212 will be good for a decent overclock. However if you are wanting maximum performance and looks a NZXT kraken x60/61 or corsair h100i,h105,h110. look awesome much and better performing and much tidyer but again they are much more costly than most air coolers.

Thank you all for your feedback!!!!! With have taken into consideration your suggestions, I have came out with a final decision. Here is the final and hopefully official list of components: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/ZekeRitchie/saved/
Hopefully everything will function correctly and perform outstanding, but I have not yet made up my mind about my CPU Cooling options. So far I am having trouble with choosing between the Cooler Master Hyper 212 and a Liquid cooling system. Which do you think would be best for this particular build? Will the Cooler Master Hyper 212 perform well or would you suggest a liquid cooling system?

And, as always, thank you SOO much for your time you have spent to help me. :)

Good choice of build. The cooler master hyper 212 is still a very good cooler for the price and will allow for some overclocking to the cpu. However for max overclocking the h100i, h105, h110 or nzxt kraken x60/61 is the better option. Not to mention it is considerably less bulky and much better looking. However they are quite a bit more expensive and if you're looking to save money and still get good performance then the cooler master hyper 212 is still a great cooler And will perform well with your build.

Just have a look on google of h100i in corsair 450d and hyper 212 in 450d for looks comparison. Search images of i5 4690k h100i and hyper 212 cooling figures for temperatures you'd expect.

Ok, thank you all very much for your help!!!! I really do appreciate it. Also, just about everything has been decided except for one thing. I have now decided to use a liquid cooling system, but because of my lack of experience I am having trouble choosing between them. So far, with taken into consideration of some reviews/research, I am planning on purchasing a Corsair Liquid Cooling System, but choosing between them can be fairly challenging to me. Which model do you suggest? So far I am trying to decipher between the H100i or the H105...but I might not be on the right track towards good quality. Which do you think is best for this build? Also, don't forget to take into consideration the size; will it fit in the case? And, of course, I wish you a good rest of the day. Thank you SOO much for you support. :)
