Gaming megahouse $2500 budget build

But what is the point in spending top dollar on a high end gpu to render all those textures nicely, if you're just going to stick an average monitor on the end of it?

You'd have such a better computing experience if you ditched that second monitor and put the $500 towards a single screen.

That's what I have been saying the whole time. One TOP OF THE LINE GPU will not be "blocky" by any means, Yes its cool to have crossfire! Its your money and you will see what we mean when you buy your parts. I think its important for you to get what you want because 1 its your decision, and 2 you have to learn and really there is only one way to learn. The samsung StrangleHold suggests is a awesome pick. Not as awesome as it could be, but they can be upgraded later.
I suppose sometimes you can't have your cake and eat it too.

I think the OP has the right idea. AT the end of the day is he gets a really nice monitor and less than awesome gpu, whats the point ":/ For me monitors come last in terms of gaming. If he were working in Photo editing or something fair enough, BUt hes not ( i think :p)

@OP i say go for the crossfired 7970 and just get the monitors you cam afford.

For now maybe, but what about 2-3 years down the line? I doubt OP is going to have $2500 again, so surely going all out on the gpu's now is best.

Getting a 7970 would be "going all out".....

Getting two?.....Well that's just plain pointless

If your looking at a few years down the line, then there will be new DX versions released, which as we know will rape older gen cards.

Is a sound card worth getting if its under $80? becaue im $80 under budget.

Also i decided to go with i7 sandy bridge because of some of the comparisons i was reading.

I also changed the video card because i wanted something that i could have 2 DVIs in, mainly because i am OCD and want everything to be identical. I compared both of them and this video card is actualy a little bit better, although its almost $75 more.
