I think you're confusing pixel shaders processors with vertex shaders - IIRC, the X1900 series has 48 pixel shader processors & 8 vertex shaders, while the 7800GTX has 24 pixel shader processors & 8 vertex shaders.fade2green514 said:ill bet the 7900's will have more shaders and same amount of pipes. ATI went for 48 shaders... WOW and the 7800gtx only has 8![]()

what if they don't make it anymore?
or what if they do and if they update the software/drivers/hardware coding, are the two cards still 100% compatible and guaranteed to work together?
Now unless you have very specific uses in mind or you intend to play 3DMark a lot ... you really wont notice the difference. I personally would go with the X1900XT because I dont foresee the 7900 lineup as seriously dominating the X1900XT in any meaningful way (i.e., when you're busting 100fps+ in games, an extra 20 wont bloody matter)i know the 7900GTX isn't out yet... but i'm not buying components as of yet either... i want to know if it's worth the wait or should i just get the x1900xtx right now?
