Hey, i want to buy a 8600GTS and im running the system in my sig. Would there be a bottleneck with my system, what else should i add to it? and is a 430W PSU (Thermaltake)enough??

Thanks in advice :)

Thanks what PSU would you recommend, and about the rest the X2 3800+ should be enough shouldn't it???

Well tell me what kind of budget you have, and the cpu could bottneck it, but not that much, if you can upgrade the CPU as long as isn't a socket 939

Well, i just upgraded from a Sempron 939!! because i didnt have enough budget change all the way to socket AM2. So no, i cant change my CPU any more, would more memory help???

And overall, would a system with a 8600GTS run games better than a 7600GT one????

Well more ram wouldn't really change too much, and yea the 8600GTS is better than the 7600GT

What do you mean more RAM wouldn't really change much?? More RAM would be an excellent idea, 2 gigs would be good.

Yeah, I'd say save your money and wait... Also, I think your PSU would run an 8600...

I'm running my rig on an Antec 380watt...

What i meant is that he won't see that much difference compare to a video card or another component DUH

Well no shit, but the RAM will definately be a bottleneck, and it would be the next noticeable thing besides the video card. So yes, more RAM would be a good idea, especially if you want to be playing the newer games to test out your new 8600/8800:)

I run an 8500 on my PC with a 450watt PSU and it turned on and my CPU is a 3800 X2 with a 939 socket.

So? it doesn't matter how much wattage it has but rather how efficient it's and the amps it has on the 12v@ rail/rails and there are some cards that ask for more than 20amps minimum

Thanks, so in other words what you guys are saying is that i should buy an extra gig stick and at least a 500W to run a 8600/8800??
