it looks like the RAM slots are WAY TOO CLOSE to the CPU socket... you'd be limited in your selection of coolers.

That would be a great motherboard for any AM3 build:D Some of the bad reviews deal with BIOS issues from a while back. I would be willing to bet most BIOS issues have gotten better with newer releases.

Take the reviews on Newegg with a grain of salt, just look at some of them.

1 egg - "Because the jumper was on the CMOS reset pins" Wow...not even sure what to say about that;)

1 egg - He returned the "motherboard, cpu and power supply 2 times and had the same issue...major crashes!" (I think he needs to learn how to properly build a computer:D)

Yeah, I guess your right about the reviews on newegg. I just wish it said 100% good lol. I think i'll get the Gigabyte motherboard and see how it goes. I just hope it works with other parts I plan to get.:)

Thanks for the link to the motherboards, Cromewell, but between itheir specs and the Gigabyte, I think i prefer Gigabyte specs. It does look good though. I'm looking for a motherbarid with atleast 2 PCIex16 2.0s and a few PCIex1 and maybe a couple PCI slots. :)

You'll never get 100% satisfaction with anything. As you can see...people buy computer parts and are not really sure what to do with them. I saw an Evga 780i review on Newegg and the guy gave it 1 egg because he had to reinstall Windows when he put in the new motherboard. He said it was Evga's fault...LOL:D

Post the other hardware and let some people check the list...kinda what we do here;)

A couple things to consider....

What about a case?
What about a graphics card?

Seagate 7200.10 drives are known to "Brick" There is a problem with the firmware and they lock up and you can loose everything. Any hard drive can fail...but they have a higher failure rate than most others. I would consider another drive.

I run a WD Caviar Blue drive...works nice and fast for me:D

WD Caviar Black;)

And RED RAM...stick with the color scheme:p

The CPU cooler is ok...there are better options for the price. Although the blue would fit the color scheme:D This is a new arrival...Tuniq makes some great products and it looks nice. Also fits the color scheme.

CD/DVD dive...stick with the highest rated;) Here is a "customer's choice award winner" Has to be pretty good.

I've been using a seagate in an old computer and it has been running for a couple years, so i think i'm going with a seagate, but i'm not sure yet. I have a thermaltake soprona case that i'm going to use. I still like the red ram, lol; however, they are both the same. I have a link to a radeon 4870 graphics card. I never knew that newegg offered combo deals either. Thanks :)

Not to bad, but I would drop the Harddrive.
Get a Seagate 7200.12 drive.

Drop the Ultra Power Supply.
Get a PC Power & Cooling/ Corsair or Silverstone.

Drop the Cooler

What is wrong with the ultra power supply? It has the right amount of hook ups I need too; i'm just wondering. I like the coolers you suggested as well. Those are some good coolers. :)

Yeah, it was the .11 drives that had the firmware issue. If you bought a new one now, pretty sure it would have the updated firmware unless its been sitting on the rack for awhile. I would stiil get a .12 drive though, no firmware issue plus they have 500GB platers.

I am glad I bought a 10th generation Seagate 250 gigabyte hard drive. I was afraid for a moment that I had an 11th generation Seagate hard drive. The drive is still under warranty until February 2012 anyway.

Good luck on that one... lol

I was worried when I was buidlign my current PC too - b/c one bad review sent my mind wanderin. I called Gigabyte to talk to their techs before settling on their board. Seemed like if anything was wrong with my board - they'd take care of me til they made things right.

First build went smoothe with the Gigabyte board. I'll probably build my next PC with one of their boards b/c of it.

Pretty much a lowend power supply. Only 50 bucks for a 750W model;). For having 750W it only has 45 amps on the 12V rail. That means it really just has 540W on the 12V rail.

I've been wondering about the rails on power supplies. Do you or anyone else have a link so I can learn a little about them. I don't know what a rail is and all those other specs on a psu.
