Going towards 2.6GHz

Ok, so I have Allendale E6300, Asus P5B motherboard, Corsair XMS2 800MHz rams. Can't get over 2.59GHz with 1.4V Vcore and 2.0V in rams, the Prime95 founds an error. Any ideas?

up the vcore, or vdimm (more likley vdimm given that prime95 error)

Well, he shouldn't have to raise the vCore more than 1.4v! I have my E6300 @ 3.4 Ghz @ 1.365v.

Have you tried raising the MCH voltage? As far as I know, doing that is crucial for overclocking the Allendales/Conroe on most motherboard out right now.

yep the northbrodge voltage is anpther important voltage in ocing the c2d, but it doesnt need much , just 0.5v would be enough

Hmmm... Can find the MCH voltage... What is it?

Ohh.. Thanks men. Ill try ;)
Strange, when I put the BIOS version 211 I can be with 2.52GHz (norm volgate for ram, 1.2875Vcore ) :D

But when I flash BIOS to 309 newest version I can't be 2.52 erorrs with 1.4Vcore, 2.0Volgate rams, strange....

Can find the Northbride chipset voltage. Any help? :o

Where it says, NB VCore:

Well, that isn't actually my BIOS. They are pictures of the ASUS P5B Deluxe motherboard's BIOS. So, if yours isn't the same as that, I'd imagine that your BIOS can't configure the voltage your NorthBridge runs at. Which isn't good if you want to overclock 3.0 Ghz and over... :(

Perhaps the option is present in your BIOS updates?

Apj means the BIOS version, not the motherboard version.

What? No he doesn't... Look:

there are many versions of the Asus P5B which do you have?

If apj wanted to know which BIOS version ULKER was using, he would have said so lol... Besides, ULKER has already told us what version he is running, so apj101 would have no reason to ask.

When i upgrade BIOS from 211 to 309, I can't hold the same OC at 2.6GHz, now im using 211 BIOS version.
When I temporaly upgraded BIOS to 309 I didn't noticed the NB Vcore.

Maybe there isn't NB Vcore manual select in Asus P5B :(

P.S. Sorry for my language, Im not a real Canadian, Im Lithuanian. Just 2 weeks in Canada :D

Dont worry about the language, you are easier to understand than some primarily English- speaking people on here.

Are you sure the NB Vcore setting isnt in some obscure place that you would never expect? look around, it took me a long time to find all the things in my BIOS.

i didnt even notice the language thing... i wouldnt have if you didnt tell us. with that proc you ought to be able to hit 3ghz. what temps are you getting? a lot of heat could give you prime95 errors.
