GOOD VIDEOCARD for Average Gamer ?

Ok, so i have not obtained my videocard yet and still saving/ shopping, and im wondering, , what is a great videocard that can play

COD World at War
COD4
Bioshock
and future games ?

I was thinking 9600GT ? should i ?
 
Personally I'd suggest an AMD 4850 or 4870, since by price they're around the same as an 8800, but in performance they are a next gen card.
 
They're about equal, the 9600 has more memory, but a slower processor. So it's better than 8800GS at higher resolutions and settings but worse at lower. I don't know about sound.

I would say get the 8800GS though as it can be had significantly cheaper (70$).
 
well nobody ever asked what your budget was, so i'll go ahead and ask. because if you can afford $200 then you cannot do ANY better then the AMD 4850. if you can afford $300 then the 4870 is outstanding.
