When I upgraded to a 1070 they were going for $100 and I just sold mine for $180 as a deal for a buddy, but they're going for $225 or os on eBay right now.

No, not really. It's like $200 on Ebay.

I mean $200 bucks for a 3.5 year old card isn't terrible, pretty sure they've gone up in value lately along with all the rest.

Well that's not bad at all. I could probably sit on it and sell it for more eventually as newer cryptocurrencies emerge. Mining doesn't seem like it will end in the foreseeable future.

Well, I got my 1050 TI that cost me around $175. Not too bad I guess. I'm not mining with it, just for games. And now that card is out of stock like the rest of them. I wanted a GTX 1060, but I can't touch that for less than $300.

I'm surprised this card doesn't have external power connections. I guess It's pretty well power efficient.

Note that those prices are from 3rd party sellers. If you sort by items from Newegg, GPUs will be out of stock, but the prices will be more "reasonable", in the $750-$900 range. If you are on top of things, you can pretty find one for that price in a matter of days.

They've got a Gigabyte one in stock right now for $819. Even then though people are buying them at the prices over $1000 and Outlet_PC is a pretty reputable seller. Everything was completely out of stock when I checked a couple weeks ago.

Just sold my 1070 on Letgo. Got almost $900 out of it. Gonna buy a better card once prices go down.

Because BTC was worth twice as much a month ago.
Well, I hope I'll get good prices for the GTX 20 series when they come out

I heard this BS bubble burst. I may sell the 1050 and get the 1060 like I wanted from the get go.

Doesn't make much economical sense to me to only jump up one tier on the GPU. I'd either keep the 1050 and just get your moneys worth out of it until next gen or at least get a 1070.

Well, the 1060 I wanted had like double the CUDA cores, so that was impressive to me. I think the 1070 is over kill for me. Albeit, the 1060 could in fact be overkill as well. LOL

My 1080 is overkill for me.

Rocket League and Factorio are the two games I've been playing the most recently. @Intel_man

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I listed my two 970s on Ebay and ordered a 1080 SC bundle with a closed loop CPU cooler direct from EVGA for around 730$ because 1070s and 1080s were virtually impossible to find anywhere. The 970s combined are around 350$ with 24 hours left at auction. If I end up getting this 1080 and a cpu cooler for 300$ or so I can't complain. The market is really jacked up right now it's unbelievable. Seeing that new stock of 1070s on Newegg are 800+ I feel confident that I didn't make an entirely terrible decision.

I just read at PC Gamer I think it was to watch out for fake Chinese GPUs on ebay. I think they were selling fake 970's.

I'm not sure about that. I almost got scammed by a buyer on eBay that wanted me to ship it to some courier service in New Jersey en route to the Ukraine, I cancelled the sale because it seemed pretty sketchy.
