GTX 460 2Win

I am strongly debating, whether or not, I want to get this card. Right now I have a 890FX MB, and I have no idea what MB I will be buying in the future. I don't know if I will end up going AM3+ or LGA1155, 16x/8x/4x, or what-not. However, I would have to use the SLI patch in Windows to have the SLI work. How well does that work? I hope someone has experience with this card on this forum!

What I do know about this card is that it can outperform a GTX 580 in a lot of games. It sucks a lot of juice, but I need to use the power from my PSU, because I ended up going overkill with the PSU :(. I thought I knew better, haha. Thing is, I heard that SLI isn't optimized for some games, but what exactly is not "optimized"?

What possible issues could you run into with this card? I read that some programs and games will not recognize the SLI setup, and in return, only one GPU is used on the card. However, I think that would be a driver issue.

Any help will be appreciated!

Edit: And what is different between the two cards!? Is it the return policy?:

what resolution do you plan to run at? do you plan to run stuff like 3D vision or multiple displays? thats the main reasons to get that card...say you have a single graphics card slot and want 3D vision or surround with your machine.

if you have two PCI-e slots at your disposal, id get two 560Ti's instead, for a small burst, if you were going beyond 1920x1080 or equavalent id go past the 560 and to a 570 or a 580 pair

be aware x8 x8 operation will NOT hurt your SLI performance. even in benchmarks the difference was like less than 10 points out of 10 thousand? thats negligible.

Thanks for your input! I think I'm going to go for a single 560 TI or 570 (depending on any deals that may be going on) gaming at 1920x1080. At the moment my motherboard does not support nvidia sli (890FX).

Thanks again!

okay, tho there is are avaliable tweaks online to make sli work with non compatible boards...google around however single card...usually works, just not for Nvidia 3D vision
