Hard Drive Installation

I recently bought a Maxtor 300gb hard drive and I'm going to install it as my backup hard drive.....

Do I need to make that hard drive my "slave" drive????

If you only have one other drive in your pc and the 300 is connected to the same cable as it, than yes, the 300GB should be made the slave.

I beleive You can also put it in the master of your secondary (assuming your talking about Parallel ATA)

i tend to think it might be sata.

and depending on what drive you have in there now, you might as well have it set up so that the smaller one is the slave. but it doesnt really matter.
