Also can you guys recommend me a cheap sound card? the intergrated sound on my pc is slowly dying..my budget is only 250...and so far with all these parts i've spent 200.77 dollars(this includes shipping)

Edit- found a soundcard, is it any good?

i wish..im too young to work so the cashflow is very limited..my mom gives me 200 each month..so thats my budget..saving is not an option since i cant go without a pc..and this pc is on its last leg

In my opinion doing an overhaul on a computer like that just isn't worth it. A single component I would probably do. For $350 you can buy a low end Dell and you can build your own for $300 or possibly less. I would ask for an advance on your money or try to eek out a little more time on what you have if you can't scrape together the money yet.

Oh yeah, and $200 a month? I was happy if I got $5 a week from my parents when I was younger... :P

i asked for the advance..parents were not tryin to hear it lol..they hate that im on the pc for hours..so they def arent tryin to help in that department...i would save up for a pc but i use it everyday for hours and its bound to die anyday now..so doing an overhaul is pretty much my only choice

If you just wait two months or even three you'd have such a solid system, i meen if you only use your computer for internet, music and videos (if you're young you probably watch porn you can go w/out that) just save your money and have a good computer

what about 300?(this includes shipping) i have a decent dvd drive i can use..and i can use my old monitor, keyboard and mouse

If you don't have an agp slot then no, that card won't work

got an 8x apg slot? if so it will
It will work with 4x agp as well.

That's exactly what I was just going to say. Salvage what you can from your current computer and build a new one. I'm sure if you started a new thread giving your budget and requirements people could come up with something for $250-300.
