well, UATA is 100, and PATA is 133....
Uata=pata=ide
it will work, its just the backwards compatibility issue, and IDE is almost always that way.okay, i dont need an explination of that crap man... he needs more space, the ONLY question i asked was "Will it work in his system" because he doesnt give a crap about how slow it is, he needs more SPACE than 30GB, thats why im giving him my 80GB HDD from my harddrive, because it has more SPACE, its SLOWER, i KNOW that... okay, heres a list PC eye..
KNOW:
Same size
Same RPM
More Space
Less speed
ATA100 compared to ATA133 of the 30GB
DONT KNOW:
Is it compatible?
i have said, i dont caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaare about the speed, and neither does he.. he needs more SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE but not if it means it wont WOOOOOOOOOOORK
your missing the point... why would i spend like $80 for a new harddrive when im trying to SEE if the one i havewill work so i dont have to spend ANYTHING!??!?!??!?!That's where you are with the loan there. A new drive will have to be ordered to replace the current one to increase the capacity. There are some that go upto 120gb. Once you have a make and model number you can shop around for any bargain. That was only one site that allowed you to match up model to the correct drives to choose from.

its not a desktop... its a laptop, like i said, both drives are 2.5" i specifically said both were LAPTOP harddrives
and with a little copy and paste into Google.com EVERY result will say its a laptop...
