my older 80Gb WD Caviar idles at 31 and goes to 33 when in full use. my newer 120Gb Seagate stays at 30 no matter what i do to it, your answer. no 48 is not good at all, invest £1.87 in a HDD cooler like this one....
Oh, jeez. After idling a while, I get 36°C, and during a heavy defrag, I get 57°C This is NOT what I wanted to hear. WD said max temp for my drive should get no more than 55°C.
