why dont they make the heatspreaders on intel and amd chips with copper, it would drop the cpu temp a great deal for what it would cost

what your asking for is why dont they use copper on the Integrated HeatSink?

simple: they do.... watch what happens when you lap an AMD 64 processor

hehe... I'm pretty sure there is a reason why those IHS's are the way they are.. the higher clocked A64's can get quite hot, so if they didnt do that right.. i doubt we would see many of them running atm

It's Integrated Heat Spreader, not Integrated Heat Sink.

does lapping do that good of a job at lowering temps? zinc coat is for oxidation obviously right? how thins the coat? how much does it effect temps?(thats kind of a rephrase of the first q )
