Hello, My brother just got me this graphics card as a birthday present http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102810
IT is very good but my crappy computer has only a 300w power supply.

I want a power supply that will run my comp which has only an audio card in it. With my Video card of course. It has to be at least a 500w which i heard i may want to get something a little bigger. I want the PSU to fit in my case and work with my MoBo.
Some links about my computer: Gateway GT4016

This is the first thing i have done out side of video cards.

Also while this is not on this board can you reccomend some good ram I can buy from somewhere like best buy that is compatible with my computer (I want good quality Ram).

Thanks a lot,
Ivan

P.S. Please explain the terms you use.

P.S.S. I know my computer is not good but eventually i will end up on upgrading the MoBo & and processor in time.

If you need anymore info from me just ask.

psu(might not be cheap, but it is quality)
ram(i would get 2 gb's only)
only problem is though, i don't think that the specific motherboard even has the correct slot for the graphics card to go into(pcie 2.0)

LOL don't listen to him ^, he's just a noob :P Just kidding.

The video card will work in that PCI-E slot, the problem is the case. I don't think the card will fit as it is a BIG card.

As far as RAM, you're better off buying online. DDR memory is expensive and places like Walmart/BestBuy WILL rip you off, even though is old technology.

As far as the power supply goes, you don't need anything bigger than 550W for that system.

whoops, didn't see that slot there, i don't see any reason why it wouldn't fit then, i think the card should just fit inside that case

Yeah, I mean it should fit but Retail PC's are always built in tiny cases.

My only concern is that since the motherboard is mounted on the opposite side panel (as opposed to standard ATX cases) the video card would have to be installed with the fan facing the top. Don't know if that would fit alright.

I saw this post yesterday. Ya it will fit in the slot I already knew that.
It looks like it won't fit but thereare two cords you can push to the side and then you basically have 10-ftish inches.
My other concern is the PSU fitting in the box... I wasn't sure if the size is an industry standard or what.
