On the very first day I received my new PB W1801, I dropped it..!
Unfortunately for me, my external speakers were plugged into the audio output port at the front of the laptop just beneath the touchpad.
The port cracked and over a couple of weeks the physical condition has deteriorated to the point that there's no audio at all.
My question is... what do you tell the tech support at PB? Because it was an accident, and not a fault in the machine itself.. does this mean it is not covered by the warranty?
My friend tells me that it doesn't matter if it was an accident or a faulty machine and that they will fix both, as long as its within the warranty?
If you would be so kind, could anyone tell me of experiences they have had with laptop repair. Courier/length laptop is away for/data safety?
Do I have to back up my files if it is taken away for repair?
I would really appreciate the advice.
Thank you!
Emily
