Antec's NeoHE550W is currently $69.99 from Frys, and would be my top choice. If the budget is tight, the
Ultra X-Finity 500W (29.99 after MIR) is better than the Rosewill unit mentioned.
At full prices, the
Enhance ENP-5150GH is another good unit. From newegg, i'd recommend the
XClio Goodpower 500W, which is still better than the Rosewill.
Plenty of quality options without breaking the bank
They like shipping cases with badly made power supplies.
Unlike many manufacturers, the units included with Antec's cases are the same sold in retail boxes. As I said in another post, there have been QC issues with Antecs SP line over the last few months, but it is not restricted to the units included with the cases.
A power supply replacement will cost as much as the case,
doubling how much you pay.
Personally, i'd argue that people should be prepared to spend at least as much on a PSU as on a case anyway.
rosewill isnt the most reputable of power supply manufacturers... but from my experience (built about 10 pcs before) they all work and run nice and cool.
Rosewill actually use a large range of OEMs to make their PSUs. The one you've posted is an ATNG model, which although not top notch is far from their worst. It's a bit of a hit and miss affair if you're not familiar with their lineup, which is part of the reason they tend to get a bad name.
