help me pick out my case/PSU

For water cooling the case would have enough room. The top and rear fans remind me too much of the old case that was used here however. Solid on the front and side with no clear window you were looking for. The lack of air flow iis greater there then with other Antec models even.

Try to stay away from Antec. I just got burned by them.

They like shipping cases with badly made power supplies.
A power supply replacement will cost as much as the case,
doubling how much you pay.

If you have a choice to buy your next case locally, then
I would not hasitate to recommend that option.
Online retailers know that returning a bad case would
cost you more in shipping than what you paid for the
case itself. So you probably wont do so.

get that
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817182030
and that
i have that case and i gotta say, its the best case ive ever seen in person...
as far as cooling goes its amazing, and its got filters so dust doesnt build up on the inside either... not to mention its light as a feather... 8.4lbs, i can pick my computer up easily as compared with my old computer which had a handle - we'll just say i had to use two hands anyways.
another very good case is the antec superlanboy but newegg doesnt carry that anymore.

rosewill isnt the most reputable of power supply manufacturers... but from my experience (built about 10 pcs before) they all work and run nice and cool.

Antec's NeoHE550W is currently $69.99 from Frys, and would be my top choice. If the budget is tight, the Ultra X-Finity 500W (29.99 after MIR) is better than the Rosewill unit mentioned.

At full prices, the Enhance ENP-5150GH is another good unit. From newegg, i'd recommend the XClio Goodpower 500W, which is still better than the Rosewill.

Plenty of quality options without breaking the bank :)

Unlike many manufacturers, the units included with Antec's cases are the same sold in retail boxes. As I said in another post, there have been QC issues with Antecs SP line over the last few months, but it is not restricted to the units included with the cases.

Personally, i'd argue that people should be prepared to spend at least as much on a PSU as on a case anyway.

Rosewill actually use a large range of OEMs to make their PSUs. The one you've posted is an ATNG model, which although not top notch is far from their worst. It's a bit of a hit and miss affair if you're not familiar with their lineup, which is part of the reason they tend to get a bad name.

I've seen a bad Antec here with anyone's case to date. But in any product line you can expect to see an occasional "glitch"? The same can be said for Asus boards like any other brand there. Now did someone say a supply will cost "as much"? as a case? I'd like to know where they have been getting their supplies from! Here's a Zalman case to look at and let's see if someone will stay say a supply costs as much. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811235004

Obviously there will be occasional glitches, however the issues with the SP series have been well established over a large number of cases, and are reasonably well known.

Do you really think that would be a problem? PC Power and Cooling 1KW. This is still a consumer PSU. As you should realise, I was speaking in general terms, i'm not saying that people should buy a PSU that costs as much as one of the most expensive cases you can find. You yourself suggest three PSUs that range up to $140, which is more than any of the other cases he'd been suggested.

In any case, let's stick to the topic at hand.

The Antec True Power 2.0 550w doesn't cost anywhere near that much as seen at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817103932 for $89.99. Most cases will get by easily with the Antec True Power 2.0 480w for $79.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817103930

The Antec nine hundred is one case I could consider for the next build here. Despite only having room for one 120mm fan on the panel that swings open it has twin 120mm front intake fans. That runs for $139.99 at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811129021
