Help me pick parts to build my computer

I want to build a gaming computer, but I've never done it before and I don't know what to look for. I need everything except for a monitor, including a mouse and a keyboard. What is a good setup for me for less than $900?

CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($214.99 @ Newegg)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($27.98 @ NCIX US)
Motherboard: MSI Z77A-G45 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($114.98 @ NCIX US)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($38.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($54.66 @ NCIX US)
Video Card: Asus Radeon HD 7850 2GB Video Card ($177.99 @ Newegg)
Case: BitFenix Raider ATX Mid Tower Case ($63.98 @ NCIX US)
Power Supply: Rosewill Green 630W 80 PLUS Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply ($62.98 @ Newegg)
Optical Drive: Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer ($15.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (64-bit) ($91.20 @ Amazon)

This comes to around $870 and it doesn't include a keyboard and mouse. I left them for you to pick.

If you want a good mechanical keyboard and a good gaming mouse, it might cost you around $940. I'm sure you could add another $40 to your budget for this system.

It'll play games on medium-high.

not to knock your build suggestion, but that PSU is garbage. He needs a quality unit from Antec, Corsair, NZXT, OCZ, PC power and cooling, Seasonic, Silverstone, XFX, Kingwin, or Coolermaster.

Same with the case. Get a quality one from Corsair, Fractal Design, NZXT, Lian-Li etc etc.

Corsair Carbide 300R, that's a great budget case and would be my recommendation. If you can spend a bit more, go with the Define R3 from Fractal Design.

How does BitFenix not make quality cases? Do some research.

I just lol'd when I read "that PSU is garbage". Honestly, Rosewill make good quality power supplies and the warranty is great on them.

Live with your choice. They are a house brand of newegg. I would don't trust one to power a gameboy, let alone a high end desktop.

Granted that the case is okay, but there are better cases for the money.

My bad about the case, sorry about that one. However, Rosewill do not make good PSUs. They're pretty low quality in comparison to what Corsair, Antec, OCZ, Seasonic etc etc have to offer. Rosewill are Newegg's in-house brand. I wouldn't buy a PSU from them.

You should never skimp out on a power supply, it is arguably the most important part of the whole system. You want to make sure you're getting a quality unit which provides clean and stable power, which the Rosewill likely does not.

Rosewill, in my opinion, make quite decent PSU's. I've never had a problem with them.
But yes, I do have to agree there are better PSU's out there.

My mistake.

I understand that they are not the 'best', but with personal experience and going on the reviews, they make pretty good power supplies. I actually had 2 Rosewill 600W PSU's, they worked great, never had any problems with them.

You never know what may happen down the line though. It may be working today, but cheap PSUs tend to die very suddenly and then take most of your system out with them. Not worth the risk in my opinion.

For the same sort of cost, these are much better alternatives:

No reason whatsoever to choose the Rosewill when those are better units and are about the same price.
