Help need for samsung hard drive?

Hi guys,
My nephew bought this HP pavillion g4 laptop recently. I think the hard drive is in trouble. Windows 7 will start to the logo and fail. then reboot and goto option start normally or repair. none of them working.

I took out the hard drive and connected it to another laptop via USB to sata extenal adapter. then run seatool on it. it is a sumsung 320gb drive.

It fail the short test but it pass the long generic test without any problem.
Is there any thing I can do or just have to returned it for repair? I did try to use Windows 7 installation disk try to repair and hang.

Thank you. Is that mean the drive maybe still good? since it pass the long generic test? What Can I do now? Is it possible a virus cause the seatool can't find the serial number?
 
Couldn't tell you, but thats what the results mean. You may want to contact seatools.
 
Thank you John, I put back the drive to the laptop, some how I got it to restore to factory default using the recovery option. so hope it will work.
