i have a basic pc....that needs 911
it was moved to replace the comp desk.and when put back it wont work...like all it does is turn on. the fans spin, and i think the hd is working cause i hear it and the hd light blinks...but the monitor/keyboard dont do nothing. as if they werent hooked up(yes i checked the connections a hundred times)..i hooke up another dekstop to the same cables and everything ran fine, monitor clicked on and showed the bios booting etc.......
what should i check??? im thinki its the motherboard....but it could be the HD. how should i go about this...

i don't think a dead hard drive will stop a Pc from booting, the pc will just say it can't detect any HD's attached
did you check rams ?

you know iw as thinking of that....cause the other desktop i tested was doing the same thing, and i pulled out the ram and put it the other slot and it booted up....??should i go buy a cheap 256chip to test it

dont know anybody with a extra correct ram sitting around....lol..........what else could be the problem,,,is there any ways to check the mother board

No. It might not work if the speed is higher than specified. You also cannot mix DDR with DDR2, DDR3, RD-RAM, Edo, or PC66/100/133. In other words, if they look the same and the pin structure is the same, go for it. Otherwise, leave it.

You probably tapped the RAM outta place and when you took it out an replaced it, you re-tightened it. You computer is fine now. You fixed it yourself.
