How do I erase ALL hard drive data??

My son has infected my hard drive with porn viewed on the internet and downloaded from Limewire, the peer-to-peer program.

How do I remove ALL of this data securely, and without any possibilty of recovery? It is a work computer, so you can appreciate why I am eager to dispose of the data.

If there is no way of removing the data using specialized programmes, will removing the actual hard drive physically work? I could then replace the hard drive with a new one.

Any help what so ever will be greatly appreciated!

yes that would work..
also there is a program called Kill Disk Pro 3.1 which earases yuor disk in such a way that not even the FBI could recover it...;)

Will the program remove all data obtained from LimeWire?
It will remove all data from your computer, meaning you will have to reinstall the operating system. The free version of Kill Disk should be fine unless you have the DoD after you.

yea... dont worry... kill disk would make it impossible to bring back ANYthing from ur harddrive... not even the FBI could recover it...

A) Yes it will remove all the data
B) I doubt your company will search every computer for deleted data, its just a waste of time.

I wouldnt be suprised if the FBI could recover something.

not if u have pro...:)
it has been tested to not let the FBI recover anything... :P

Nope, they have new techniques to recover data.

For example, a scanning magneto-resistive microscope can recover data EVEN IF it has been deleted and written over.

Although erased and overwritten with an agency logo, original hard disk data remain faintly visible in magnetoresistive scan.
