normally it will just be a few screws which you have to take out and that is it, you have your openable montor.
As for laptops, they are different. To get inside to components, there is a panel at the bottom held on by screws, this takes you to 1 of the sticks of RAM, hard drive, processor and mobo, also if you take the keyboard off using the little clips that are at the edge of the keyboard, hard to see but they will be there, you can get to the other stick of RAM.
For laptop screens, they aren't like normal monitors, they are much thinner and have nothing going on that you can fiddle with, it is just one flat cable from the screen to the main body of the laptop. You can't repair em unless you are a proffesional, it isn't home fixable, but the screen can be replaced. That again is just a few little screws which are under the little rubber pads around the edge of the laptop screen, take them off and the screws are underneath.
