i was wondering how good my cpu is, intel celeron and what i should upgrade to for better price when i sell my pc
thanks

celeron is intels' budget processor. without knowing the exact model it's hard to go into too much detail, but even the best celeron isn't very fast. depending on what type of celeron you have, it could be socket 775, which would mean you could stick a core2duo in and would instantly make your computer about a million times faster.

yeah like mentioned above we need to kow what socket it is...if its just a older Celeron the systems not going to cell for much realy:cool:

I believe that the fastest Celeron speed is 3.46ghz, but I may be wrong. You may get $400 for your entire system. You will want to get a dual core CPU, AMD or Intel, not matter what, just to keep up with todays technology.

you'd be lucky to get $150-200 bucks for that right now.... and as for a new computer, depends what you have to spend and what u wanna do with it :)

not even, maybe $75 if he's really lucky. And there'll be basically no way to upgrade it, unless if you consider the PIII an usable upgrade...

i bought my system new, its pretty basic it has a Celeron R runs at 2.4GHZ and it was cheap $194 shipped for a complete custom system with XP media and 512 ram ( i now have a gig), but im getting a gaming/multimedia/core 2 duo or quad core rig when i go to college. My Celeron works good for what i do internet, IM, and word. But to make it faster...sell and buy a new one. I'd say look for a good barebones system and slap a core 2 duo in it.
