How to put the Cpu Fan properly?

well... doesnt the LGA775 motherboards have thos''spring pin's " and yes... those can be bended ;)

anyway,... try turning on the Pc without the processor in it,... does it give an audio or visual alert? ( check the manual for what alert it should give )

further... i dont think you could fry a CPU that fast with the heatsink on it..
i've seen several tests where thay pulled off the heatsink of a processor while it was beeing under full load... all AMD's fried,.. all Intel's screens froze, the CPU was shutted off. so i hardly think Intel has changed that, since that was with the P4's (that test that is).

He was talking about the CPU and you have to be really stupid to bend pins on the mobo, but it doesn't matter.

Gee you missed something? :P If you had followed the thread further you would have seen the response that came afterwards. But a little common sense and patience goes a lot further when installing the more delicate hardwares. :)

thats why i like the s939 processors... they are build solid as a rock.. ;)

I've had the 3500+ here cranked up a little at times. But a price drop on the FX60 or Opteron 185 S939 dual core models would go well in the work horse case here. :D (gee now i got to wait for the quad cores to come out just to...)
 
Well CS Source Lover exept being a dick you could acually help me.And no the pc is not fried in 3 seconds nothing burns that fast with a fan on it.
 
Well anyway i went to the store today and the guy tested my parts and its the power supply.I dont know why the power supply but it was just it so i will send it to antec and they will send me a new one.

Does anybody have an idea why the power supply burned when i reseated my fan.And it acually helped at the store i got 25C idle and before i got 35C on idle so it was worth it reseating.
 
Yea everything was fine.He took it out of the case and everything worked.But he used his power supply.

But i dont know why did it fail well i will see when i will get the letter from antec i will ask them what was the problem.I have it on warranty so i dont care but it would be good if i found some power supply to just use the pc.but i dont want to buy another one and i dont have an extra one at home.

But i am acually happy because my temps are very good 25C is very good.So i be getting like 34 at idle that is perfect.I knew that it was something wrong with the fan so thats why i reseated it .
 
At the store the system wasn't run long enough to see only 25C. The supply didn't quit due to your reseating of the hsf. If you somehow managed to reverse the plug for the cpu fan the fan would be what cooked. It was most likely due to a bad cap in the supply itself that simply went.

That happen to me too, with that Antec Neo HE 550. First Installed it without the extra fans and it turn on perfectly and loaded to bios etc. Later When I connect all the extra 120mm fans the Power Supply smoked.

How could few fans burn a neo he 550!!!! Later I return that one and bought the same kind again and when I connected it. It burn out on me again. I just thought from then Neo He 550 are peace of CRAP!!!!

This time I return the second Neo HE 550 and Bought a different name brand PSU. OCZ 500watt PSU and it worked find.

So basically when your Neo HE 550 burned on some fans thats normal. Just remember never to buy Neo HE 550 again. I dont trust them anymore.

I would have swapped the Neo HE 550w model for the True Power II or III 550w models that get favorable reviews. It was a bad batch that found a way out. Generally Antec is one of the most reliable brand supplies.

I'm really glad to hear that :) And look... i was right :D Intel's usually dont even blow when you take off the whole heatsink while its under full load :o
But im really glad its (just) the PSU.... talking about serious bad luck with timing here.. :( ah well,.. turned out to be not that bad after all.. :)
 
Apparently the supply quit after powering down the system to make the hsf change. The cpu wasn't under any load with the system shut off. I've seen supplies quit suddenly while the system was running. Those are usually the cheeeeeeeap supplies that came along with budget brand cases. At least the supply can be replaced easy enough under manufacturer's warranty.
 
but the antec noehe were suppose to be very good.When i read the review it stated that its a very good power supply.And antec will replace the power supply for free right?
 
You would have to ship it direct to Antec along with a copy of the sales receipt from purchase. They would replace it under their manufacturer's warranty if you are past the return date at the vendor. Most online vendors will have a 30day exchange policy on defective products. How long did you have the supply?

The 30 day return policy is with the vendor that sold you the product, and the 3 year warranty is with Antec, so Antec will have to deal with it (which could be a while).
 
After the dealer's return due date has expired from the date of purchase you will have to ship it directly to Antec where they will repair or replace under their own manufacturer's guaranty. It's their product. Shipping time for individual supplies yes will take a little longer there. I couldn't give you an exact amount of time having never had an Antec supply quit in all these years. I've seen some "cheapies" included with cases bought go fast however.
