Hyperthreading

I'm currently looking at two processors: The i5-3570k, and the i7-3770k. From what I can understand, the two processors are almost exactly identical, except for one tidbit: Hyperthreading. What is the added benefit of this feature? Is it worth the extra hundred dollars?

Intended uses:
I keep a LOT of programs open at once. I rarely close things.
The lastest games, at the highest settings.
Computer programming. A lot of it.
Burning and ripping CDs to lossless formats, using multiple cores
Multimedia creation software, such as Photoshop and Flash.
Overclocking.

What hyperthreading does is double the amount of threads that the processor can handle. It is useful for running a lot of threads, but really you do not need it at all. And it is only worth the money if you really needs it.

For what you want to do a 3770K would probably be good (especially for the Photoshop and Flash), but I do all that stuff on my 2500K, which is an i5, and it all runs good.

Depends on how much you want to spend.

If you have the money to burn, get the 3770k. If you need to save a few bucks, get the 3570k. I doubt there will be much difference at all, over 4ghz there's nothing a 3570k does slowly lol.
