Now I have been having problems for the past 2 months now. When i have it turned off for more then a day or so and then go to turn it on it will bring up a number of warnings. Like missing a file or something to do with bios. Then i put my windows cd in and it will repair itself. I would also go to an older version of bios. It has happend like 3 times now and im stuck on what it is. I have ran a check on the hard drive and it was fine. Now is it the processor or the motherboad?

The bios and the windows cd have nothing to do with each other. Are you saying that you are having bios warning and when it boots you are getting windows error too. If so it would help if you could tell what the error/warnings are.

The computer will change errors everytime you reboot the computer. It doesnt get to windows boot screen it just goes through the motherboard screen then the error comes up. Sometimes its a missing boot file and its missing something about windows being screwed up... So sometimes i can fix it by windows disk and sometimes its the bios. But this last time i redid everything and started from scatch and only instaled new drivers and bios and let it set. and 3 days later it did it again.... Could it be the processor?

Its a Phenom 9950 Agena 2.6GHz that i had OC to 2.9 for a while (1 month) and its started doing that boot crap so i moved it down to 2.8 then it did it again so i went back to 2.6

Have you tried just resetting the bios. Sound kinda like your overclock starting getting you some file corruption.

I was thinking the same thing. You may need to flash the BIOS, or it could even be a bad motherboard battery....

You also may want to do a full sector scan/validation with the drive manufacturer's or other third party utility. Your hard drive may be failing as well.

Also, what type of BIOS errors are you getting? Are they relatively consistent when you do have them?

I have flashed the bios twice now and still getting crap..... I need to look into the motherboard battery ..... that would make since. Everytime i boot up it gives me a diff reason so i cant pin point the problem. It really sounds like a virus to me but i have done everything to make sure i dont

Can you give us a few examples? Also, can you continue to boot after these errors without trying to repair Windows?

Wouldn't hurt to check for. Grab Malwarebytes, too, and give that a run. The BIOS issues are most likely not related to a virus - unless you have an extremely rare virus that affects the BIOS.

Sometimes when I reboot when the issue is happening it will say that the boot file for windows is missing and then it will say windows is corrupt. Then sometimes it will give me a code for bios

Ok, those sound like MBR problems. What do you mean by code for BIOS? Does the system BSOD on you?

BSOD? im not sure what code ill have to get it tonight when im not a work. A friend of mine said i might have screwed up the processor while overclocking it....

Excuse me.:) BSOD stands for Blue Screen of Death.

Do you get a blue screen with white text at all? Is this what you mean by BIOS messages?

No after it goes through the motherboard load up screen it goes to a black screen with a white cursor and stays there until the white texting shows up. If it boots up normal the black screen with white cursor is only there for about 10 sec but beyond that i know its going to fail

No a virus won't become evident until you boot the operating system. It is the operating system that carries the virus.

Go back and read Stranglehold's post again. Set the BIOS to default. If you haven't ruined anything yet, you may be OK going forward.

Ok i booted up last night to get the code for you guys and it booted right up. So i shut it off and try'd it again and it booted fine again.... So i started going on like nothing happened and i noticed it stalls out a lot and freezes up a lot. I let it think its way through and it will finnally get through it. So i downloaded a stress test to see whats going on and ran it for 2 hours and nothing failed.... Does this help anything?
