But i have no clue what do to. Im thinking of selling my xbox and all of the games, probably going to get around 350-400 $$ out of it. Thats already a big chunk of cash there. and the rest probably my parents will be paying for since it's my birthday.

So im wondering should i build a computer or just screw that and buy a Alienware . since those are amazing i guess.

And im not trying to run a game on crysis on the highest setting or anything.

Im just trying to get a computer that can run probably MW2 at it's highest potentiol. And as smoothly as possible.

Thanks in advance

Build your own. Last time I checked the Alienware prices - they were too high. A Fancy case isnt' worth that to me.

What's your budget? Do you need keyboard - Monitor - and Mouse with it?

Here's a Link - you should bookmark - visual aid in how to put the parts together.

^ That. We need a budget and what accessories you need.

Also, I'm assuming you'll need an operating system?

Im planning to play on my tv, if thats possible.. i have a 38" 780p.

Uhm so ill probably just need the componant to hook up the PC to the tv. And im planning to play in 720p ( HD ). So ill just need the Componant, a new mouse, and a new keyboard. Nothing to fancy though just something that's good for gaming.

And about budget.. I don't know about that.. Would you guys know a a possible budget that would be needed?

Oh, and im only 13, turning 14 in 7 days ( my d-day )

i don't know if ill be able to do this, and i dont wanna screw up :(

700-750 would be ok I think. You may not be able to run MW2 on max, but you'll get pretty close.

You could go less, but it's hard to do when you need windows too...that's about $110 by itself.

I have a windows 7 disk.

But i really want to play mw2 to it's highest.. Im a really serious gamer and i just cant stand the xbox any more with it's monthly fees..

What would the budget be? im willing to pay anything under $1,500

That changes things a lot. So all you need is a mouse and keyboard? A cheap monitor might be a good thing...

If you can give an exact price that would be best for you, it'd be great. More money means more performance, but also less money in the wallet, lol. You can push the budget as high or low as you need, honestly.

For MW2 on max you'll need a pretty beefy system, but it may not take the full $1500...

Ok i made up my mind, im willing to spend $1500 maximum.

So you want to go right up to $1500 with it? That's going to be a nice system. :)

I'll post a build in a few minutes...takes a bit to gather all this up. :)

Wait a second, if i can run MW2 to its highest without going all the way to $1500 then please say so .

I guess I misunderstood?

I'll keep the build lean then. A mid/high-end CPU and a great GPU are the main things you'll need...everything else stays basic.

I would use Drenlin's build with these parts switched:

CPU $166

MB $108 shipped
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130235

Case $45 shipped ($15 rebate)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146059
or
$70 shipped

Keyboard & mouse $40

or
$69

$53
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826104099

If you want a 1TB HDD try this one
$90

What do you guys think?

Lol, now im getting confused on what to buy..
the reason for my choice of parts are:

cpu will be very fast (at a much lower cost)
mobo supports SLI (not crossfire, oops)
saved money on cpu/mobo allows you to spend on a monitor, keyboard & mouse, nicer case, bigger hard drive...

Dren, does he need DX11?? we could get a card for half that price by nvidia (or ATI), still very fast

monitor $159 shipped ($20 rebate)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236051

GPU $147 shipped ($10 rebate)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130528
or
...

(sorry this turned into a big mess of options and alternatives... we'll get 'er sorted out for ya ;))

btw I play MW2 on my rig (in sig) and although I turn the 3 texture settings down (one notch) from ultra, the game still looks fantastic and this makes it run higher that 60fps with ease

very smooth, very fast, but as we all know it could be faster....

make sure you pick a tower that will keep your GPU cool if you're gonna max out settings

if you have $300 for GPU, go with the one dren posted (and if so, we can find you an AMD mobo and cpu setup that supports crossfire for under $360)

like this one:
cpu $164
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103808

mb $182 shipped
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131363

again, sorry for the mess I've made. Dren, can you clean this up? haha
