I'm hoping I'm not following a trend here...

None, a DVDR is a read-only DVD meaning once you've burned data on it you cannot write on it again and a RW is a rewritable DVD.
Thats what I thought! Stupid confusing acronyms!

I'd go with Lenovo.
I am hesitant about that one because (don't judge too harshly for this ) it's ugly. I don't like the silver. I could get over that but there are two less than raving reviews.

The ASUS is nice looking but it's massive. Bigger than what I currently have I think.

I am not psyched about Windows 10 but is Windows 7 going to be a problem?

Windows 10 is okay. Once you install a different start menu such as Classic Shell, it gives you a start menu like windows 7. I would actually upgrade to 10 while its free.

Bloatware is software installed by the machine manufacturer that is usually never needed and hogging space and resources on the drive.

If you want a gaming laptop, I would recommend an Intel cpu. The cpu is only a 1.8ghz and I'm thinking would bottleneck the video card.

I've been half-following this, hesitant to jump in since a few great member resources are already giving sound advice, but just had to drop this in ;)
