So I built a pc about a year ago and apparently I bought incompatible ram. Money is currently an issue so I need the cheapest solution that is an actual solution. And to help me in the future can someone explain how to figure this out?
So I have an MSI z87-g45 Gaming mobo with G.Skill Ripjaws X Model: F3-12800CL9D-8GBXM.
After realizing I had a problem and it was mobo/ram related. I found the compatibility list for ram on MSI's website. However I don't completely understand it. Here is the link if anyone doesn't feel like navigating MSI's website. http://us.msi.com/support/mb/Z87-G45-GAMING.html#support-mem
Anyways, does this list mean I can choose ANY ram set off this list and it would work flawlessly? If so, what is the size and DIMM columns? Is the size per stick, or max capacity?
As for the solution, I would like to obviously sell my g.skill ram and buy more compatible ram. So according to this list or in general, What ram should I get?
