Info Needed

Hello, I'm new the the forums and needed a bit of info from people much smarter then me on computer issues. I play World of Warcraft and have considerable lag sometimes, and I was wondering what I could/should upgrade to have a better gaming experience. It is an old computer and getting a new one is not in my budget at this time. I'll post the specs below.

Processor: AMD 64 3200
RAM: 1024MB
Video Card: 128K Radeon 9600

I'm not sure if I should upgrade the RAM or video card... I was thinking one of the other. I don't have a lot of money so hopefully something below $100... Thanks for any help on this subject.

i would highly recommend saving your money for a bit and building a new one. if you got the case, moniter, mouse, and keyboard, you can throw some components together that run WOW maxed, for $400-$500.

if u need stuff right now, i recommend getting more RAM. its the only thing on that list where u can get good ones for under 100

What is the exact make and model of your computer? Most of the times, older computers are tricky to upgrade and there are only certain parts that will work.

That will give us an idea of what you are working with.

Unfortunately my hard drive is currently crashed so I can't get on the computer to find out that information. I will get back to you on that. Thanks for the replies.

In this case, you can actually get it running WOW fairly smoothly for under $100. A video card and more RAM will definitely speed you up. Do you know what kind of RAM you have? It should say somewhere on one of the RAM sticks. It will probably be SDRAM, DDR, or maybe even DDR2.

That processor is pretty slow as well, but you won't have enough money to upgrade all three. Socket 754 didn't have too many that were faster than yours anyway....
