I'm considering purchasing intel's newer model processor chip to replace my old core 2 duo E6600, but when I looked at the specs of the i7 it's socket type is an LGA 1366, as opposed to a core 2 duo's 775. Now I know the i7s need more pins to work the way they do, but does this mean I'll need a new motherboard that can support the i7 processor? as far as I can tell the specs on my motherboard only really support 775.
