There is no doubt that many of you heard that Intel will cut the prices on April 22, but intel will cut the prices even more in Q3 2007 before AMD releases Barcelona.

As you see in the picture intel will cut down the price of Q6600 to $266. Intel will also replace their QX6700 with Q6700 and it will be priced at $530. Intel will also release their high-end quad core processor CPU, the QX6800.

He rounded up.

But damn. Thats cheaper than an e6600 now. I wonder how long until most applications and games have updates to utilize all 4 cores properly? I was palning on making my first build this may, but maybe ill wait til june or july?

i guess it depends on the motherboard you buy

and the ram

even a 9x multiplier's enough to reach some wicked speeds with todays motherboard and memory technology, tho.

is this true

Intel Core 2 Quad

Model
Core
Frequency L2 Cache
FSB Q3'07
Pricing

QX6800 2.93 GHz 8MB 1066 MHz
$999

Q6700 2.66 GHz 8MB 1066 MHz
$530

Q6600 2.40 GHz 8MB 1066 MHz
$266

is the q6600 2.40 ghz 8mb really gonna be 266 bucks if so im waiting and changing my rig

They're trying to stop as many people as possible from buying AMD quad-cores, no matter what the cost is (they have far more cash to throw about than AMD).

'tis the nature of Capitalism.

heh nice uve made my day, i always had an intel except on a laptop was a athlon xp-m 2000+ which wasnt that bad better then celeron in laptops but the new core 2 duo in laptops i tried out my uncles it also had a radeon x1400 man it was ffasst and nice i cant wait to see the differnce from a
Pentium (d)ual core 2.8 to a non pentium (q)uad core 2.4ghz and by the time i build it i have a high guess that 8900gs will be out.

does any 1 know what month in quarter 3 i hope at leasy by may if not arount august. i have my patience for somethin this good at that proce

yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyeaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh boooooooooooiiiiiiiii

Well, this sucks for me, should I get a E6300/E4300(in April) to save money and get a quad core when they cutting prices, or get a E6650(45nm core) and stick with that???

Bah, now I'm not sure if I should wait until Q3 to upgrade or not, lol.
But then again, they'll just drop prices yet again in Q4.
LOL :/

Or maybe the Barcelona line from AMD will be better than Core 2 Extremes.
Hmm?
I guess I could just get like a DS3 with an E6320 (or 6350, whatever the Q2 one is), and use that.
Because I'll feel cheated if I spend 200+ on an E6600, when it's the same price as a Quad core 4 months later, lol.
Hmm.
Crap.
I hate computers :p

*EDIT* LOL.
While I was typing mine, the post above me went up.

Haha, basically the same thing I'm wondering :]

I will wait to get a quad core. It is great though that Intel is keeping their products so affordable.

You're in the same boat I'm in. You just gotta make a decision and go for it or else you're gonna be waiting for ever. I'm gonna buy the e6650 when it comes out. I'm going to have a quad capable mobo so, about a year later is when I'll make the decision to buy a quad. That's if I even feel like it. :D

Ya I would just wait for the Quad becasue its so much faster then the duel core and if your a gamer will suit you well when the games will support and use all 4 cores.
