Internet Problem

I don't know much about the Internet, so I'll be brief. I published some articles on web site. A few months later, I didn't want credit for the material I had submittied, so I asked the webmaster to removed my link, and he did. However, when I google the article, I can still find it, but if you go directly to the site, you can't find it because he removed it. What's happening here? Previously, this has happened to me before, but after a few months, I couldn't google the article anymore.

Also, another similar experience. I asked the webmaster of another sight to change my bio for an article I had submitted. He changed my name and info, but when I google the article, it's still under my name. However, when you press the link, the website has been changed. So how can the name already be different on the article, but when I google my name, it hasn't changed. Do these things take time?

Example: The info has been changed on the site, but when I google the new info it doesnt give me anything. However, when I google my name, the sites comes up, but when you click on the site, my name is gone and the new name is there.

So is the question is: if the new name is on the site, why doesn't it appear in a google search?

People stole your work, and put it as theirs, you can't do nothing about this mostly cuz you didn't put your name/nick on it and also that some sites might say no to remove it just for noobishness

i think he is saying that he was the one actually asking for a change not someone else stealing his work...

im not really sure how that works but my understanding is that it may take some time for the database to be updated. Databases are usually updated maybe weekly or monthly or sometimes yearly depending on the host. So it is possible that the webmasters may have change it straight away but if the host did not update their database, you will still see the original post on Google search.

someone please correct me if im talking rubbish... :D:D
nv publish any article myself so not that familiar...

Yep, you're exactly right. I was just wondering how long it would take these changes to take effect and if they ever would. If anyone else knows anything else about this, please chime in.

yeah, i guess it would depend on your host. some would do it often some would do it less. cuz it takes time to maintain the database.

not sure if you can contact them in any way and ask about how often do they update the database/server... you might even be able to get some schedule when they will do the update... this way you have a rough idea when you should make any changes to your published article... :)

contact google and tell them to clear all cache of your article and it will go away. however, they may not listen to the little guy, you may be put on hold for a while. google caches everything for long amounts of time. You could go delete your myspace page, or your website and I could probably pull up a google cache of it months if not years later.
