Any card the receives on the same channel as the broadcaster... A/B/G.. N if the router broadcasts on that channel, get a card the receives it.. I just got a card from Ebay, as it was 3$ cheaper than Newegg.. Shop around.
in case u don't know: u will need a wireless modem/router and both u and ur neighbor will have to tune into the same channel. u choose the channel by connecting to the modem/router and setting the channel.
Yes any card will do as long as it matches up with the standard. Say you got a router that broadcast on the G frequency you need a G card. I would suggest you get a USB wireless card if you are not into opening up the case of your PC. I would suggest the "Linksys WUSB54GC Compact Wireless-G USB Adapter". It works with the B and G standards. I have had it for a year for both my desktops and they work without a hitch.
Another good question by [-OMEGA-]. If you are very far, you will either have limited connectivity OR the network will not be detected as it would be out of range of your wireless card.
purchase wireless modem/router and two wireless lan card and configure your connection with wireless network enable ICS on one of ur computer and connect ur computer with internet......
