I recently came into a laptop that's is pretty old and was wondering if it was worth it to keep it or buy a new one. Considering this laptop was free i couldn't decide. This is the cheapest new laptop I found:

After spending 500 bucks just for the Notebook, It doesn't seem like it's worth my while.
The Dell comes with 256 MB RAM, Mine has 512 MB
The Dell Comes with a 40 GB Hard Drive, Same as mine
The Dell is running Home Edition, Mine is Running Professional
The Dell has a DVD Burner, which I would never use (I have DVD-ROM)
The only considerable difference is the processor is twice as fast on the Dell
As the price of the new Laptop gets higher the specs seem to change a little, but remember, i didn't pay anything for the one I have.
What I'm asking is do you think it's worth it to spend 600+ dollars to get a new one?
