is it worth going to vista?

I would just buy Vista OEM, with the Free Windows 7 Upgrade.

It's $10 cheaper and you get 2 OS's for the price of 1. :D

Well I strongly advise against it. vista will slow down your computer in every way, including lowering your frame rates, slowing down boot times, and even normal tasks you would normally zip through seem really slow

If that is what you are getting, than perhaps you should consider getting a better PC, unless you already have one, in which case, something is wro ng in your computer, do not want to offend you in any way.

You can install Windows 7 without installing Vista first.

Sorry, I guess I wasn't quite clear enough. What I meant is, if I install Vista on my current machine, would that make me eligible for the free upgrade to Windows 7? Or, would I just have to pay for it anyway? Thanks.

Because it takes twice as long to install two O/S's
I wouldn't install them both. lol
I'd save the copy of Vista for a different machine, in case I
ever needed a spare OS.

This is just BS. If Vista kills your pc performane, then your
pc is a turd.

The only way to be "eligible" for a free copy of Windows 7,
it so buy Vista right now.

The copy of Vista that you purchase must state that it comes
with the Free Windows 7 Upgrade.
