Is this a good build?

I'm going to be using this PC for (listed in order of importance and frequency):
.Home and school use (Internet browsing, Word processing, maybe PowerPoint)
.Beginning Video Editing (using AAE CS4, Vegas 8.0, GIMP)
.Video capturing Halo 3 from the Xbox 360 (probably with external SD capturing in the beginning, might move on to an HD internal capture card or external HD cap card)
. Gaming (Halo PC, H2V MAYBE[I don't PC game, I don't own any PC games])

I have a budget of $1,000 and less. $1,000 is stretching it. Please, make it as powerful as possible without nipping too much at the budget. I am interested in montage editing and will build this with my dad.

Alright, my other thread is irrelevant and is dead. My question is, is this a good build for my purposes?

Improve it without going over $800 in the subtotal if possible.

With these changes and an odd added, subtotal is $801.91(dont forget the free shipping on the case saves $10-15)

Thank you bomberboysk.

Only thing is that I'll need a DVI-HDMI adapter... :(

Well, I could just run down to Worst Buy and grab a DVI-to-HDMI cord anyway.

looks good and if you can afford it i would strongly recommend upgrading the video card to a 4850 or a 4870.

Not worth it when hes not a gamer, the 4830 is almost more than what he really needs tbh, but since its only a $10 or so difference from a 4670 then why not futureproof a little bit.

Ehh, I don't care much about shipping cost, so I'll actually stick with the Antec Three Hundred case. I'm not too sure about that Cooler Master, I'd rather take the time to build a sturdy case with screws than have a flimsy plastic part break off and not be able to have it fixed. Screws > tool less.

That coolermaster is an excellent case and very sturdy, as is the three hundred. Cant go wrong with either choice;)
