is this alot of fps?

a constant 40 would look to the human eye would look like 120 but a 120 means that if u get into a mass firefight or something, ud be perfectly fine even if ur computer "slowed down" to 60

to be honest, i dont think you will have to worry about all that stuff at this point in time with your setup. seems like it will be able to run about anything for now:)

you dont need a stress test to tell you that a 7800gtx kicks ass:P
 
if this is the stress test in CS:S, then i got around 112FPS. it ranged form 110-120FPS depending on the settings that I had, so i wouldnt really go by that.

if your talking about the m4a1 combine, then yes i love it :) One of my top 3 favorite weapons.

Nobody needs it, and you really cant control it if everythings on high. Its just nice to have

I believe this is the best my Intel will do without overclocking, untweaked os though. :)
