Sounds about normal. You only have an 8x writer by the looks of things - meaning it writes about as half as fast as a 16x writer.

check this

EDIT: and these are the result of the test , i only had a blank CD so i put it in

That length of time is perfectly normal, nothing to worry about. And even though you have 16x burner, the media may well not support it.

Buffer's fine as well, you should only be worried if the buffer runs out completely, then suddenly fills up completely, with buffer-underrun protection having to kick in.

are u sure u were burning a dvd-r?
yes

when this happens then what's wrong ?

It usually happens when other cpu or memory intensive tasks are running when you're trying to burn. The buffer is information about the burn that has already been read and stored from the hard drive, but not burnt to disk yet. If the buffer isn't filled up by the hard drive at least as quick as it's being used (i.e. burnt), then the buffer will run out. Buffer underrun protection is there to try and save the burn, by allowing the laser to stop and start again at will. Not all burners have this, but most modern ones do.

I can see you have not burned a dual layer dvd. Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?.....

your burner must really suck, today i was burning a disc at 8x, even though the disc said it was 4x, but anyway, i was burning 2.7Gb onto a DVD-R at 8x and it took literally about 4 minutes. Even if you were burning the full 4.7Gb i wouldn envisage it taking that long....

It only takes me twenty-five - thirty minutes minutes burning with 2x.
At four times faster than i burn, i dont know why it would take only half the time.
However, the time DOES seem normal to me. The mulitplication just doesn't.

I experienced that.. takes long than usual to burn DVD, try changing the DVD with a good brand of disk. I had 2 DVD disk trown away last time because of factory defect.
