Just Built, need it to start URGENT HELP

Even if I cannot see the screen? I just took out the battery...looked on the ASUS website. This should clear the CMOS. Gonna leave it out for the night and give her a whirl in the morning...Still looking for answers as of this moment..,

Ill have to try the num lock thing. So no system beeps is a good thing right? When i took out all components but the CPU, mobo and powersupply the system never beeped. Thats good, right?

Wow i am a noob. Ive been out of this game for so long! I thank you for all your continuing help...

Update...it looks the like the P6T has a lot of faulty batteries which often fixes the problem. I might need to go get a new one, but still looking into it more. Do you think this could be the problem???

Make sure all the plug and stuff are plugged in fully and properly. If still not working restart the computer or shut off the computer (press and hold the on button for about 4 and a half seconds) then turn the computer back on.

If still no luck and you wish to then go onto http://www.youtube.com/ (I am http://www.youtube.com/user/Fira777 from YouTube) and create an account and/or film the computer to show what is wrong and show the "whole" monitor, hard drive, plugs, wires possible and upload. Then put the video here in this thread and elsewhere.

Good luck-

Jason.

Again, I feel that the graphics card is DOA or that your BIOS doesn't support your processor. Resetting CMOS won't do anything, since you need an updated version rather than a changed parameter.

If my bios doesnt support that then how do i update it??? I have seen other people with p6t/i7 930 rigs.

Didnt really forsee this one ill tell you that

Check the graphics card first. If that doesn't work, try another graphics card (cheap, known working one - just to test) Then we'll worry about BIOS. Who did you buy your hardware from? It would be really irresponsible for a company to send you a mobo and processor that don't work together, and I kind of doubt that it's the problem. But it's certainly possible.

are both video card power cables plugged in? you said that you had only a 6+2 in. you need both the 6 pin and 6+2 (8) pin cables for the video card to work properly.

I have both 6 + 2 pin connnects plugged into the side of the 5870. Of course the +2 ends are just hanging freely. Thats all for the graphics card.

I am not sure what you mean with the 8 pin...?

Dean, I would do that however I do not have a spare graphics card. I only have this bad guy....

I bought the hardware all from newegg. I just checked asus bios online and since 2101 an i7 930 p6t deluxe combo is supported. I would assume that my mobo has this. It came out on 2/25/10

Hey astolt12 i built my machine a couple of days ago and i had a problem with not recieving any video display (same video card as you) in my case it was found to be that the wireless network card that was plugged into the pci port was doing it and the system did not post beep or anything it would just sit there hope this helps.

HSV Man,

Thanks alot..I gave that a whirl and nothing happened. Called Asus tech support and it looks like I have an out of date BIOS that makes the i7 930 incompatible with my p6t.

They are overnighting a new BIOS chip (Version 1303) to my. All i gotta do is pop it out and put the new one its looking like...hopefully that'll fire it up.

I also have th p6t, not the V2 deluxe like yourself so yours may have the much newer BIOS.

Crossing my fingers its gonna work...in the mean time, ill finish wiring the system...i am so hoping this works.

Anyone else think it will? I had the old version that came with the board V. 1104.

Just got the new BIOS chip in for the mobo. Nothing...

Still will not give me any display. Called asus tech and they believe the Mobo is DOA.

RMA sent, they're getting it out on monday. Should be here by tuesday/wednesday at the latest.

All fans spin, everything fires but it just wont go. Any ideas? Could it be a DOA mobo?

Also, the big thing i got here is that the speaker will not beep no matter what. Even with the video card out where it should beep it wont. I tried both PCI slots but still nada.

Is there a way to make the thing beep without and error to just make sure that the speaker itself isnt DOA...hahahah

Dude. I seriously hope that your video card isn't the only thing wrong. I've never heard of a motherboard beeping w/ no graphics card installed. I've run servers w/ no graphics (removed after inital OS installation and configuration, of course)...

I would feel a lot better if you would just get that friggin' video card tested. Seriously.

But I guess that's my problem, not yours.

I finally found another computer i could pop the card into...gold. it worked. Found it at our school's engineering lab. (should see some of those computers..wow!) Anyway...

Except here we go...insert rookie move here. The whole case is black and I did not see the 8 pin ATX 12v input at the top next to the CPU (covered in a black protecting cover)...never had a plug in it. I thought it was a sole 24 pin powered motherboard. Whoops...

Put it in, nothing still...dumbed it down to ram and played with all possible configurations..bassically the board has dead ram slots..but im typing this to you from it.

slots 1 3 and 5 are dead, but 2 4 6 are alive and running my ram now...Put it in, and through alot of asus tech support managed to get her fired up and OS loaded...its running smooth.

Water cooling is keeping my i7 930 at 28C across all 4 cores, 5870 GPU is running at 30C idle right now. Its actually cooling down my room, instead of heating it up it seems. Crazy.

SO...in the end the mobo will need RMA'd but in the mean time, i did get it running...rookie move for sure, so I expect a chuckle out of everyone.
