Would you consider a computer in standby on or off? Since technically it is on because it's still using power :rolleyes:

BTW, why does it say your idle on AIM if your posting? Or are you on a different computer?
 
Off. I dont see any reason to leave it on. I mean yeah people download things.. but not everynight.. if so.. there's something wrong..
 
I'll just say off, since the computer isnt actually processing anything. But there are times when i leave it on, like when i need to download a few things (legal downloads), and i dont want to waste the bandwidth during the day.
 
Usually off, even though it's virtually in-audible. I jsut dont like to run it pointlessly. Sometimes I leave it on during the day when I'm not home for 4-7 hours, which is pointless. Takes ~35 seconds to boot up, guess I can wait lol.
 
I leave my computer on monday to friday 24 hours a day, as i am home everyday after work. Weekends my computer is off because normally im not home over the weekend.

I leave my computer on all night and all the time just because of the folding at home thing if i diddnt do that my computer would be off all night.
 
On ver nigjht, i leave it on monmths at a time, its in my bedroom....you guys need better fans, mine is 4500rpms max and only 23dBA i think it was, i cant even hear it from my bed :)
 
Strange...I can't sleep without it on. Its like a background noise, if I notice it missing I just can't sleep. I have had to turn on the computer at midnight to fall asleep.
 
My PC is like a jet all the time, but its upstairs and we all sleep downstairs. Some nights i leave it on with SiSoftwareSandra07 running the burnin test all night (it scares me). Some nights- there is no point in leaving it on, except sometimes i like to see what my temps are in the morning after doing nothing for 8 hours (CPU 26C).

every night before i sleep there must be something to do
Full virus\spyware scan, download, defragmentation or update something
there's gotta be something to do
 
noth of mine in my room are kept on 24/7, doing various tasks.... usually downloading (legal of course...). It used to be F@H but since i formatted i havent gotten back into it and cant really be bothered anymore. (Sorry Jan)

I used to keep mine on but i'd always wake up to something saying gpu error or something like that. I think my computer might have overheating problems but I might've fixed it.
