Did'nt know where to put this, as the problem could be one of many topics.
I've been having some lag problems in two games (Single Player), Rainbow Six Vegas and Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter. Both are first person shooters.
When I play on 800 - 600 resolution it works fine, anything higher gets that little bit of lag (frame rate I guess) that leads to a near automatic death if you ever need to aim quickly. Worse lag ensues if the game gets really active.
My specs are as follows. (Let me know if I'm missing any info that could help).
Windows XP
Processor: Intel Pentium 4 520 2.80GHz
Tech: 90 nm
Volt: 1.365
Core Speed: 2792 MHz
Bus Speed: 199.5 MHz
Rated FSB: 798 MHz
Chipset: Intel i915P/i915G
Max Bandwidth: PC3200 200MHz
RAM: 1.5 Gigs
Graphics Card: GeForce 7800 GT OC
Rainbow Six Vegas is said to require a 3.0 GHz Processor, but, as well as many others, I run it on 2.8 GHz. Of course, I am having problems with it, but Ghost Recon requires 2.8GHz and I'm having the same problems, so I dont think that has anything to do with it.
I have enough Hard Drive space.
I don't have a soundcard, just the on board that came with my comp.
My Monitor is a 19-inch Samsung SyncMaster 997 DF
I can't understand what could cause the lag so any help would be appreciated.
