Limewire Issues

how does that make sense?

so i go to the website, when im prompted to download the installer i cancel that to get an "offline install"?

how can i get an offline install if i dont download the installer?

You're right its worded badly, i copied it from what the guy with the same error as you said worked, and my guess is that he means is when the automatic download box comes up click cancel then look for the thing the little box on limewire that says something like "your download should start automatically, if it doesn't click LINK" i dont know why they would be different it doesnt make sense to me but thats what the guy said. figured youd want to give it a try if you still cant get it to work.

Lime wire is not illegal; it does, however, suck. I believe it comes with malware of some kind, you don't believe how hard it was getting rid of that thing... uninstaller didn't work, couldn't manually delete it, launched itself every 2 minutes or so... there's been other weird rumours about LW around as well, such as sharing/downloading without the user's knowledge.

I would rather use Shareaza as a P2P client. Open-Source FTW! In addition to Gnutella that LimeWire supports, it also supports other protocols such as Gnutella2 and ED2K.

The problem is, you're using Limewire.

thanks for the helpful contribution. it really helped me fix my problem. how could i be so blind! i didnt know i was using limewire...

anyway,i found the problem and it turns out it had nothing to do with the program or audio drivers. weird. it was the nvidia nforce network drivers. i uninstalled them on a long-shot chance that it would do something. im using a wireless card so it didnt affect me at all. i started limewire up and now it works normally. go figure.

thanks to most of you for your suggestions.

Hondro, yeah that doesnt make sense to me either, they wouldnt be different.

never had that problem. could be something downloaded from the program? in which case it wouldnt be limewire's fault.

ill look into it.

GUYS!!!!

Against the Forum rules!!!

You are talking about a program that is used to illegal purposes!

Pls read them VERY carefully!

Limewire is 100% legal just like guns are 100% legal... it's when people misuse guns that they cause trouble. Saying that "You are talking about a program that is used to illegal purposes!" is like saying we can't talk about guns here because some people use them illegally.

If you need a P2P client Froswire is better... much better. As you said, Open-Source ftw!
