For the average surge yeah they'll do the job decently (if you've got a decent surge protector at least). Now if you're really paranoid, something like the APC Symmetra would the dream tool

Welcome to my world I like a loud computer ... helps me stay awake or rather, (supposedly) makes it hard to sleep.

Most ive ever left a computer on is about 9-10 months i cant remember .... i turned it on and completely forgot about it LOL ... most i ever meant to leave it on is about 8 months give an take a week when i was in residence
