Looking at MB/CPU combo

That's pretty good for the price.

I'd look for 2933MHz at least, RAM speed has a noticeable effect on Ryzen.

The budget motherboards have problems. Don't want to buy high end MB for an entry level CPU.

Unless you have a suggestion? I'm all ears.

I only use Gigabyte boards.

Why is this, out of interest?

From personal experience I have found asus boards the most reliable, gigabyte are my second choice, I've had a couple die on me. Now I use a gigabyte z370 aorus k3 and it works fine, but damn the bios is horrible, it looks so dated and feels unresponsive, even cheap msi, asrock and asus boards have a nicer bios, not that it really matters, I was just surprised.

Well, this is it. Tomorrow I will order:
Ryzen 3 2200G - $90
Gigabyte GA-AB350M-DS3H - $65
Ballistix Sport LT 8GB Single DDR4 2666 - $80
Total $235

I'd still advise going for 2933 MHz RAM if you can find some. Especially since you're getting an APU.
