Looking to build a new computer

I've decided to go with a barebones system to start off with. Im not extremely good with computers so I decided to come here. I found this http://www.pcdirectsource.com/Item.cfm?ID=2664

and I was wondering how good a deal this is, and if I would need to get a new power supply.

Im really want to build a computer that will last a little while, and I was wondering if this is a good start. Also im going to be playing some games on it so any ideas would be nice.

Thank you =)

you do need a new psu, and that isn't the best deal, you want a 900 series chipset and a quad core, that mobo doesn't support the new cpus coming out, and next to nothing uses more than 4 cores. and if in the usa look at newegg.com otherwise where are you.

the last is prob the best, but it is missing many of the main parts, what are you looking to spend for the entire system all together, and i think i said it before, check out newegg.

You are going to need a Power Supply (PSU), monitor, keyboard, and mouse. You dont 'need' and SSD but it is a nice thing to have. Most people generally just install the OS to the SSD for faster start up and such. and have a seperate HDD for everything else.

If you look at my sig everything but the sound card and speakers cost me about $1200 (just under) from newegg. You could save buy getting a i5 2500k and less RAM (16gb is overkill), also the i5 socket is scalable to the i7 and you will have a nice chipset to go with that.

Okay here are two builds, I have looked up. Let me know what you guys think. Also see if there is any compatiblity issues, im horrible with this kind of stuff lol.
All prices are after rebates and shipping, through newegg. Thank you for all the help so far.

Processor: i5 2500k 220$
Mobo: Asus P8P67 Pro 170$
RAM: Ripjaw (2x4) RAM 35$
Graphics:Asus GTX 560 173$
HD: 320 gb harddrive WD 42$
DISC DRIVE:HP CD/DVD drive 30$
PSU: Coolmax 1000W 85$
Case: Nine hundred Antec 85$

Total: 840$

Processor: AMD Phenom xII 955 BE 120$
MoBo: Asus M488t-v evo 85$
RAM: Ripjaw (2x4) 35$
Graphics: Asus Radeon HD 6850 140$
HD: 320 gb harddrive WD 42$
Disc drive: HP CD/DVD drive 30$
PSU: Corsair TX750 90$
Case: Nine Hundred Antec 85$

Total: 727$

Or this
http://www.compusa.com/applications...ffiliateID=je6NUbpObpQ-CrT5j.5b4tHOCsqCAd6p6g

Plus
Corsair XMS3 4GB DDR3 RAM $ 33
Graphics: Asus Radeon HD 6850 $140
Disc Drive: HP CD/DVD $30

Total: 700$

These are all excluding monitor, keyboard, mouse and also windows itself. I already have all this.

Im kinda slightly biased towards AMD, just because Ive always had great quality from their products and they have always seemed to better bang for buck.

One more question is there any little things that I will also need to get? Sorry im really ingnorant to this kind of stuff lol. Like will I need to buy anything for the usb ports or ethernet port, or any other kind of ports? Then will I need anything to help me put it all together? Once again thanks for all the help so far

Can i hijack your thread here good sir?

I just noticed with the computers that you guys are building for this young feller, you are using the Radeon 6850. Is this a good card? I mean, at what quality can you play at which game?

need a better psu brand, may be cheaper to actually buy that then buy a seperat psu and sell that or something, since they have ridiculous power requirements which call for a 700w when you can use a 550w corsair and be fine. also msi isn't the best brand, get a gigabyte or asus if they have them for a similar price.

Will I need a SDD?
No, you don't need an ssd. But once you have one you won't want to go back to a spinning disk for your os and most used programs.
The mb in your build has a dead end socket and won't accept Bulldozer upgrade.
1600 memory costs about the same as 1333.
If WD, a Black drive for c:\ is better than Blue.
Everything below is high quality with good warranties and the cpu is upgradable to AMD's FX/Bulldozer cpus that are set to be released in about 2 weeks, so you may want to wait on your build to see the prices/reviews. Up to you. The 955 is a good processor and can be oc'd to at least around 3.8Ghz with a 3rd party HSF.
This is about $1040. (after the $24 off) + shipping, to get it delivered. There's an additional $75 in mir's. This system is Crossfire ready.

I do plan on adding and SDD later, but i just dont feel like i need it at the moment. Also the graphics card you picked out is a 2.1 x16 and the mobo is a 2.0 x16. is that right? Will they work together? if not do you have an alternative graphics card that will work?
