making a computer.... (MOBO)

Hello everyone, im new at this forum :)
well, i am now about to make a computer out of parts (im not gonna buy a already "boxed" computer)... so i was thinking about what i could need...
well the thing is that im pretty much out of money... i got 2 computers from before... so im gonna take couple of parts (most) from them...
im not really searching for a PRO gaming computer... but a somehow good....

i've been thinking about buying:
-Case:Cooler Master HAF 912 Plus (http://www.multitronic.fi/showprod.php?prod_id=RC-912P-KKN1&b=1)
and some fans... some cool Led fans....
i dont really need much help... but i just dont know about anything of MotherBoards (MOBOs)... so could some1 tell me what is a "good" motherboard to buy for a low price.... (if possible, search it up on MultiTronic (in Finland))
but how is it with the processor? is it already in the motherboard or how??
the hard drives i will be taking from the older computers.... i have a 1TB external and a 2TB external memory... so memorys not a problem... while someone (i hope) is on this... i could need a suggestion of RAMs (if they are cheap...) since i got some of my old computers... so they should not be that big of a problem... and not the other parts really.. im most concerned of a good MOBO.... (i will be using a ATi Radeon X1550 graphics card... that enough for me.. dont really need a much betters, since im not a pro gamer... i mostly play TrackMania and other driver/simulator games...)
if you need more info, just ask..

hopefully someone could help me out!

Greetz, Heku!

Do you have a processor and psu already? motherboards dont come with processors naturally, they are installed, unless you have an old one already that is decent

Can you tell us your budget and what precisely would you be using your computer for, also the configs of your 2 desktops so we can use as many parts from them if we can.
Please tell us your budget in USD and also no the CPUs don't come already on motherboard you have to buy them separately.
The case you have selected is pretty good.

Building any new computer you should always start with budget and type of use the computer will have. after that you can go many ways depending on what parts do you need.

1. select CPU :- two major CPU manufacture, Intel and AMD (Advance Micro Devices) at this point Intel has faster CPU while AMD has cost effective CPU (Does the job well, but not the best)

2: second is the Motherboard: this depends on what kind of CPU you get, getting simple Intel or AMD cpu answer is not correct as both company has numerous different type of socket and processor, so after picking CPU we can guide you through right mobo. some motherboard has build in CPU (like majority of intel's atom mobo and CPU combo)

3. Hard Drive : not sure if the meaning is different in finland, but the 1TB and 2TB external hard drive you've usually other user reffers to as Space or HD.

4. RAM : this is what we usually call memory for computer, depending on mother board you get you can choose (or ask advice here) the RAM as this again differs from different motherboard model.

5. Video card : you already have it so no worry for you there, but do keep option open as some mother board might give you better performance with build in graphic card. (not sure though as no info on the spec of card you've)

5. you will need Internal HD to get good system build. you can run the operating system (like XP or vista) from external HD but internal will be good as you got kicking feature case.

What kind of Operating system do you have or need is a question still.

so the bundle is must for building any new PC. Good news old generation mobo and cpu sometimes can be found at good low price, bad news the ram will cost you more, on the other hand newer mobo and cpu will cost more while ram can be bought very cheap.

okay, thanks for giving this kind of info... ill try to answer those....

well, my budget is ~200€ ~ 283.913.. ~285$
1.i think Intel sound better (because its a bit cheaper....)
2.hmm...
3.well i have 75GB internal(x1), and a 40GB internal(x1) hard disks
4.i do have on my other a 512mb, and i do think i have 1gb or 2gb on the other computer....
5.1 got it already, or some kinda :D
5.2 i will be using Windows XP SP2... (got it already on disk and so...)

my "better" computer is a DELL Optiplex GX620.. with not that many modifications... i only think there is my own Video (graphics) card (ATi Radeon X1550) is there..

and the other is.. well i dont know... some older Compaq (Evo)...
i know my budget is low, but im mostly out for a "fitting / good" MoBo.. and it has to be an ATX.... (i dont want M-ATX)

more info you would need?
(ill search up the specs for it a bit later... maybe today (friday)... or on the weekend.. if im home..)

i tried CPU-Z and GPU-Z... they gave me info like this....
_full.jpg

if you need pics of some others of those "tabs"... just tell, im not a pro with all this computer stuff yet

E: and btw, the internal hard disks:
WD Cavalier IDE Hard Drive WD400 ~40GB
Hitachi Deskstar ~75GB

It is still possible to still get PATA motherboards. I assume its so that people can free up some sata ports with a pata DVD drive, but either way it could work.

maybe it will raise to 300€
it depends on how much money i get this summer from working....

daisymtc: i will rip the most parts of my 2 other computers....
the only thing i just need is a Mother Board... but when you get to it... you need to buy more parts... and i hope i wouldn't have to do it. bcuz i have the 2other computers i can rip parts from....

wolfeking: i have no idea what your talking about ^^

and about the Processors, i started looking on some... AMDs....
what is the difference if its a X4, X3 or X2 (AMD Phenom II Xx)

found a nice priced and with enough Ghz (w/o overclocking) Processor.. but could you guys now tell me if this is a good or a bad Processor:
http://www.multitronic.fi/showprod.php?prod_id=HDZ560WFGMBOX&b=1

Yeah it's a good one. It's just a notch above mine, and all the black editions are pretty good overclockers.

The Phenom II X2's are really only X4's with two locked cores, so if you're lucky you might be able to unlock the other two cores and get a quad gore for that cheap a price.

They're both black edition. That's what the BE stands for on the end of the 560. The 560 just has a higher base clock speed and slightly higher L2 cache.

the 555 is a great processor. It will OC wonderfully (assuming its some kinda close to the 550 that I had).

And what I was saying above is that if you want to use the IDE (PATA) hard drives that you have, you will need to make sure to get a motherboard that has a PATA (IDE) port. Or a IDE controller card.

okay
voyagerfan: lol did miss that one xD
wolfeking: okay, gotta remember that...

which of the processors are now then better? 555 or 560? when thinking on which one you can get more G/Mhz's out when OC and stuff.... ill wirte it then down so i will remember :D

I would suggest that you get the 555. Though you get a little higher base, and a little more L2 cache, the 555 will be able to get about the same OC as the 560.

okay, ill start making list what parts i already have and what i still need
ill take some pics of the stuff i will be using... then you guys can give comments what should be changer and so on.....
