Messed Up Dell

Dimension 4600
Sorry if I got it wrong, i'm kind of sped-ish with this computer as we got it when I didn't know anything at all about computers so I know nothing about the hardware, and i'm not too good with software. I'm more used to custom pc's, they're easier to work with for me

I am pretty sure it is a hardware problem because my dads friend is a self employed IT person and he fixes our computers, and my dads works' computers (he is self employed too) so I think he has all the right drivers...?

Okay, but it is pretty easy to just miss one, if it was me, I would try it anyways. Its not going to hurt to try, especially if device manager says the device is working properly. Its as simple as downloading a file, and seeing if it works. :)

(I kind of want it to be a hardware problem so it is another reason for me to get a laptop :P) Alright, i'll do my "best" to get it to work ;)

The computer i've been using for the last 3-4 years has just started crashing but only when i was playing a few select games. It happened because of a heat issue and all i had to do is open up the case and blow out all the dust and get 2 more fans for the case. I noticed when i first got this computer my processor would run at around 38~c and now even at idle it's around 54~c. I don't know what your processor is but try downloading a program called "Speedfan" and try to get your CPU temp and report back, It could be bad memory, overheating Cpu, or overheating Gpu if you have one installed or a number of other things.

Everything is fine now, just the sound problem, but this computer is 5 and a half years old (just counted it last night :P) I think it might be time to get a new one. My sister needs a stable computer so I am giving her mine and I am taking hers so I will have to be careful (40GB HDD) about space and heating but I am getting a laptop soon (hopefully) so it shouldn't be too much of a bother.
