Messed up motherboard

Hi all I have the ud3h z77 motherboard by gigabyte. Unfortunately if you have read my previous posts. The old on wouldn't boot. It would flash on for a second and then turn off. After an rma with scan try replaced the gpu and motherboard. However now this one is doing exactly the same. I've only had the thing a few days!

I can only assume I need to update the bios to try and solve the problem. Assuming I can get it to boot again the problem I've got is I can download the latest bios update from the gigabyte website but whenever I try to open it, it comes up with its only compatible with 32bit windows 7 when I have 64bit. How can I update the bios ony system?

Is it simply a matter of placing the file on a flash drive and booting from it to solve the problem?

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks all

Does it have bios F8, that's what is needed for a 3570K. There is a few of system compatibility updates. Just tried unloading the bios and its fine. What are you using to update. Just use @bios in windows. If its acting up be careful, if it goes bad it can make a Frisbee out of it.

F8 is what I'm trying to update to but I don't think it's going to happen as cannot get pc to boot at all :/ looks like another RMA

Yeah the standoffs are in the right positions. This is what confuses me there's nothing there that can be frying the motherboard. The only thing I can think of is being that it hasn't been updated to the correct update for the 3570k it has corrupted the bios hence why it won't turn on. Which if that's the case the only option is a new mobo I think :(

Are you sure your psu isn't just died? Try using it in another pc or that works.
My moms psu died and gave the mobo a little shock when starting the pc. Now replaced it and everything works.
I don't think it's the mobo if you did already replace it once.

Just looked at your other thread, this is the second one doing the same thing. After the other thread hard to say, could be if they don't have atleast F8. It has a dual bios, if the main gets corrupted it will still boot with the backup bios.

I don't know if it is the PSU because of the fact it still runs the fans and everything for a second and the motherboard all lights up as if its ready to go. Unfortunately I don't have another PC to try it on. But I know when I checked it before and it was giving out something like a solid 12.6v. How helpful this is I don't know

Fans take very little power. If a P/S has a low 12V rail under load when booting it can do the same thing. Boot sometimes, then not, lockups, restarts. Bummer you don't have spare parts to swap out or another computer to test on. Didn't read the whole other post, but have you tried using a jumper or a screw driver on the power switch pins, could be a messed up case power switch.

Yeh, idk it's the psu in your case, try moving the jumper to clear bios.
Also, do you hear any beeps on startup?
It could also be faulty RAM or cpu...

MSI can make a really good video card. There motherboards are now and always have been semi flakey. Kinda of a hit and miss thing. Don't know if its a quality and control thing or not. If you randomly got 10 boards each from Gigabyte/Asus and MSI. I guarantee the MSI boards would have more % of problems.

i used it for like 5yrs now and so far i haven't experienced any problem or whatsoever, so yeah msi and Asus totally rocks dude.

Got it back today turned out to be a dodgy PSU, thanks to whoever said it could be that I wouldn't of sent it off otherwise. Turns out it was a bit intermittent. One minute it worked perfect the next it was dead. So all sorted got a replacement today :)
